The Nail

Yesterday Dakota was getting off the futon and got her nail caught in a place on the doggie steps. In the end she pulled and the entire nail came off!!!!!!!
Mommy and Daddy took care of her but there was blood EVERYWHERE!!! It was just awful!!
Daddy fixed those steps so they can't do that to anyone else.
She is hobbling around on it but you can tell it is hurting her. She is on pain meds and mommy and daddy have to keep it cleaned out and bandaged up really good.
Poor baby girl!!!

Another ACL repair

Another one of the young ones had to have the ACL repaired in her right leg. Mariah went in and had surgery on her leg as well as her eye. They had to do entropian surgery on it. My mommy says she has never seen her eye like she can now. She is recovering now and seems to be doing good. She has to have pain medicine but she is going on walks now.

We had one nice day this past weekend!! Just one!! See me out there in the beautiful sunshine?? Saturday was really pretty and mommy worked in her flower beds again. Strangely, there are no flowers there yet. She says she has to go buy them. Maybe next weekend she will do that. She has to go out of town without me for 5 while days in another week. Sure will miss her. Better go get some cuddle time in.

A new bed

Woof!!! Did you hear something? There was a delivery truck that brought something to our house yesterday. A new futon? With a nice new mattress? Oh my dog!!!! Mommy bought us a new bed!! It is so pretty!! So comfy!!! Its a bit tall she and daddy said and Dakota seemed to have problems hopping up on it. Not me though I was like poof and I'm up there. Daddy dug out some wee stairs we had gotten when the pups were wee ones and she goes right up them.
Think I will go test the new bed out some more.

Flower Beds

Yesterday mommy made us stay outside all day!! My humans was working on mommy's flower bed. See how they got all the grass and weeds out? It was a tough job. I helped by cleaning off mommys face a couple of times. I was ready to go inside before it was done so Jonathan let us go inside but wait everyone was outside, so we doggies went back outside with the humans. It seemed like it took forever!! Mommy says she is sore this morning but she said it was worth it now the pretty flowers that come out of the ground can come up and the ones she will plant will all be so pretty. Off to cuddle some more since its a work day for her. Later!

See me!?! See Mr Sunshine out with me? Yesterday it was such a pretty day outside. I am snoopervising my daddy while he is doing something to our grass. Using a thatching blade! That's what it was. He says it pulls all the old dead grass up so the other grass can grow better.
It was rather windy out but we still stayed outside for a long time.
Mommy fixed my favorite yummy food this weekend.....liver with rice mixed into our kibble!! Yum yum, everyone ate good.
Sad that the weekend had to end but mommy said she bought us a new bed!! That's right we are getting a new futon!! It should be here in a few weeks.
Speaking of bed, its time for my morning nap.

Well, today is another day and I'm back to my normal self. Thank you for all of you who were concerned about me yesterday. I really hate having FSF(shar pei fever) its really an awful thing to be stuck with.
The doctors haven't put me on colchicine yet but I do take a bunch of supplements to help out with my condition. Only good thing about that is I get lots of treats to help them go down better.
I hope I don't have anymore for a long time. They make mommy upset and I don't like when she worries.
Enough about me, we are up for the morning and went outside already and guess what!?! Yep, there's no Mr Sunshine today. It is suppose to rain here today and tomorrow!! I'm just a little tired of all this rain, aren't you or is it sunny where you live?
Time to cuddle with the rest of the gang on our futon. Catch ya later!!

Another Fever

I woke mommy up this morning at about 3am. I didn't mean to. I was being as quite as I could be but I had those dreaded shivers because I was running a fever. Mommy jumped right up and got me some baby aspirin. It still took a long time for the shivers to go away though. Its now almost 8am and even though she didn't sleep much she hugged me and said she is happy that my fever seems to have gone away. My leg is still very sore though and I don't want to walk on it much. I think I will just have a day on the futon.

Don't think mommy is too happy. She said day light is coming too soon. The light comes in the window earlier and that means we peibys are starting to wake up earlier. Its so pretty though to see the sun some mornings.
Nothing much else going on here in Pei Land. We are getting to spend more time outside now but the weather is still a bit cold.
It is suppose to rain tomorrow and Saturday so I think we will enjoy Mr Sunshine today.

I kept waiting for the people on tv to call my name last night but sadly it never happened. Mommy loves to watch movies so we see many of them. I like the movies because because it means lots of cuddle time with mommy.

We got up this morning all ready to run outside and face the day then....whoa!!!! We get to the end of the garage and what's this? Rain? Yuck!!!!
We peibys do not and I repeat do not like to get wet!!! *Sigh* I had to be a big girl though, and face the music....I still had to go pee!!!
We didn't waste anytime though doing our business and heading back inside!!!!

Lazy Saturday

Today was a pretty lazy day here in pei land. Mommy hasn't been feeling good. She had to go to hospital on Friday. The doctor says she has an infection in her kidney. I was really worried about her so I have been doing lots of extra cuddles with her. I think its helping her feel better.

This is me and Mommy!!! See me she got me to hold still but it was hard. Today something happened that mommy said "scared her to death". She went to put her stuff in the car before leaving for work and when she came back in I was staggering around on the floor. Daddy says he heard a thump when we all jumped off the futon but I don't remember what happened. All I know is I couldn't walk straight, and I started panting really hard. Mommy set right down on the floor and pulled me close. She thought she was going to have to take me to the vet but daddy told her to just wait and see how I was in a few minutes. Sure enough, in a bit I was feeling much better. Still don't know what happened but I didn't mean to scare mommy like that. Hope it never happens again. She didn't want to leave me but duty calls. She gave me big hugs when she got home though and we will cuddle soon when we go upstairs to bed for the night.

I had to jump on here for just one brief moment to share my day with you. We peibys played outside a lot today and snoopervised while daddy put some grass seed down in the backyard. He said he needed to put this new kind down cause it said it would hold up with lots of traffic on it. Are we traffic? Hehe
It's what they call Indian Summer around here. Mommy says we have about 2 more days of really nice weather and then it is going to get cold and stay cold.

Mommy loves sitting on the front porch on her swing. I take a flying leap and jump right up there with her. She is very careful at that time to hold the swing really still so I don't fall.
Now it is November and we don't have many days left to set on the swing. It's getting way too chilly outside for mommy. We will have to put all the cushions away she said until the spring.
Sometimes it's sad to think we won't have our swing time for awhile, but then I think about laying beside her on the couch in front of the cozy fire and.....well.....that'll be alright with me.

Today we didn't do alot of anything other than lounge around in front of the fire.
Mommy left for just a little bit to go visit Grandma and Grandpa and to the grocery but I just napped and was up and ready to play when she got home.
Daddy watched his football games today and Jonathan went with mommy.
All in all it was a very relaxing day and I was so happy mommy was home with us. Tomorrow she has to go to that thing called work again. Not my favorite place for her to be.

This is me when it was still hot outside. See the little bit of the garden you can see behind me? My daddy had tomatoes coming out all over the place this year. That and cucumbers. Oh yeah we also had some cantaloupe but I don't eat any of that stuff. Blegh!!
So anyway, I just wanted to post a picture of me outside in the sun when it was hot, cause already it is getting cold out. Today mommy says its not so bad. It's about 60 degrees or close to it, but the nights have been brrrrr. Down in the low 30's already. I snuggle really close to mommy on these cold nights.
Gotta go snoopervise my dad now, he's out sweeping up the leaves.

My mommy has been scanning pictures of Passion, her first pei today. She even cried a few times. Passion was a very pretty pei. I knew her for awhile then she got sick with cancer and had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Mommy told me one day we would see her again.

Mommy is upset and I'm upset. She is upset that for some dumb reason the laptop computer doesn't want to let her upload any pictures of her babies on here. I'm upset for the same reason especially because its not everyday she remembers to get on here to let me Chloe B blog my heart out.
I've been quite busy snoopervising around the house. There is this little bunny that keeps coming in the yard and no matter how much I tell her about it, mommy will not let me out to chase it down. I'm a very fast runner, and I really think maybe just maybe I might can snatch him up.
It's been very hot and humid today, so for the most part we all stayed inside in the nice air conditioning. Cojak stayed outside quite a bit though. He thinks he needs to snoopervise all day long. Good thing he was outside earlier. He got to see the deer up close. It was standing in the back yard, well that is until he came charging around the corner, then it took off in a fast run and hop. All you seen was the white tail bobbing up and down.
I won't take up too much time tonight, so that way maybe she will remember to let me back on tomorrow.

Just look at that baby boy, isn't he so sweet!?! This is my little boy and he now lives with my Grandmommy and Grandpaw at their house. He was once my baby but now he is a big boy. He keeps them company and also keeps them very busy. They just love him to pieces.
Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I plan to be a very good girl and give my mommy lots of love and cuddles all day.

Last night it snowed here! Was I not just asking about the flowers and now we get almost 2 inches of snow. The good news however in all this is, that by this evening, the majority of the white stuff had melted away, but still. I do believe my pretty flowers are even farther away than I feared. Please keep your paws crossed all my furiends, that spring truly is here and we will start seeing the results soon.

Big boy, Cojak, got a bath today. I was smart and hid under the kitchen table so mommy couldn't find me. She later told me she knew where I was all along and that she had only planned on giving Cojak a bath today, no one else. All that hiding for nothing. I must find a better spot!

I must say, I have all but given up on mommy remembering to let me blog, then out of nowhere today, she asks me do I want to get on and leave a blog? Huh? You talking to me? So, here I am, finally I might add. Who knows how long it'll take between the next post so I will leave a bit for you to read just now.

Lots has been going on so I suppose that is the reason I haven't been on in awhile. Mommy really has been busy with things, so I'll be a good girl and just say its water under the bridge.

Cojak and Scooter had a little altercation a few weeks ago, nothing major but it was enough to tick off daddy but then it always does. Cojak could really hurt Scooter, but the sad part is, alot of the time Scooter "asks" for it, he walks around growling at Cojak. Mommy says something about "little man syndrome" not sure what that is, but Scooter is the littlest of us all. Anyway, I hope no one else gets into any trouble for awhile.

Daddy had to go away to the hospital for a few days, I'm sure mommy will leave more info on her blog. All I know is he wasn't here all day no matter how much I looked for him. He wasn't here at night either, that was weird. But he is back now and all is ok with him.

The snow has all gone away but for the past few days now it has been raining and raining. We have alot of standing water in our yard. Mommy says its a good thing its beyond where our Invisible Fence goes, otherwise she seems to think some of us may have fun running through it.

I am ready for some sun so I can go outside and lay in it.
For now, it's all I can do to stay awake, its past my bedtime, so I'll stop for now. Catch ya next time.

In other news, I wasn't feeling too good this morning. I was shivering when I woke up, and mommy gave me some baby aspirin. My back leg was hurting too, so I kept holding it up. Mommy is getting very nervous about it possibly being FSF, I sure hope not, I don't like to worry my mommy.
It was very muddy outside today. We was suppose to start getting baths today, but mommy says she didn't really see the need when we were going to just go out and be all dirty again right away.

Down the steps

Some of my girls are starting to go up and down the steps, but Tink nor Mariah will dare go down the basement steps. I'm really not sure why, cause I the Belle of the Ball zoom up and down them just to show them how easy it can be.

Thought I should also take this time to mention that mommy really enjoyed her time off of work, but now she's back at it again so I don't get to see her as often as I like. My mommy should always be around for lots of cuddles I think.

This is a picture of Tink when she snuck upstairs one day. She will go up and down those steps but not the wood ones to the basement. Just as well, too many things for the young pups to get into down there.

But its still night time mommy!!! I couldn't figure out what was going on when I was soooooo rudely interrupted out of my sleep to be told to get down off my bed. Off my bed?? In the middle of the night?? Hey, what's that horrid smell? Ewwwww...now I see why I have to get up! Scooter woke and was sick. He didn't have sense of mind to get the heck off the bed in time either. So now mommy and daddy had to take the old sheets off and put some new ones on then just when I think we are settling back in, mommy leaves the room to put the sheets in the washing monster!
Whew! Finally we are all settled back down and I think tomorrow is going to call for some catch up napping to be going on. Hey let me get started on that now!

Scooter Update

Here is the latest on our buddy Scooter. The vet seemed to the think his teeth were ok? Mommy couldn't quite figure that one out. Anyway, the vet seemed to think that maybe it was a virus or something so he got medicine which he hates by the way. She gave him some special medicine for his digestive system as well. By day 2 of being on the medicines, he was eating again!!!! Yay!!!

Daddy was very glad, as Scooter is his "Little Buddy". When he took him to the vet, Cojak wanted to go too and tried to get in the car. I'm sure if he had realized where they were off to he would have ran the other way. Needless to say, Cojak was not very happy he did not get to go. Mommy did not know this, and when daddy got back with Scooter, Cojak jumped all over Scooter!!! He is such a jealous boy!!!! They had to stay seperated for awhile, and now all is back to normal!

A Bad Tooth

Scooter still hasn't eaten much of anything. Mommy got an idea earlier today cause she said last night when she gave us our tasty treats that I love soooooo much, that Scooter acted like he didn't want to chew it and then spit it back out. So, today she had Daddy open those little jaws of his really wide, so she could have a look inside! Sure enough, there is a toofer right there close to the front that is bleeding! Yucky!!!! Tomorrow Daddy is going to take him to the vet and let them them fix it, that way he can enjoy his kibble once again!

Must be something going around is all mommy can come up with. The other night Scooter got up sick at his stomach, then he seemed fine. The next night it was my turn, yucky, I do not like being sick! Mommy stayed up with me though, and would wake right up every time I whined cause I didn't feel good. The next day my tummy seems all better now, but Scooter is sick again. Hmmmm.....mommy says he'll have to go to the vet soon if he isn't better.
I've just been taking it easy, but I feel fine now, I even run all around the house a few times like I normally do, but never too far that I can't find mommy quick.

I wanted to give an update about the wounds she got from the mean dog next door. It appears that she has healed up all nice. She still goes out there and looks for the mean doggie though. So far we havent' seen him anymore.
Nothing else much to report for the day. We played some inside and outside. Now its time to curl up for my evening nap.

This is what Mariah does the best!!!! She loves to nap!!! All the time. She follows me around everywhere outside though, that is until she realizes mommy isnt there and then she runs really fast back to the door to get inside. She is mommy's little shadow.

Cojak turned 3 years old!!!!

Saturday was Cojak's 3rd birthday!!! He's a big boy mommy says!

He got his usual breakfast like we always do each morning. Daddy fixes us scrambled eggs and sausage sometimes we get a bit of bisquit also.

That night Cojak got extra sardines in his treat bowl, just like I did on my birthday.

Mommy doesn't let us play with toys because we all fight too much, so no new toys for him.

We all had a good day though, and got to chase lots and lots of leaves. The best part though for me was that mommy didn't have to work so I had extra cuddle time.

The other day when Mommy tried to post our pixxy of all 6 of us, poor Scooter got cut off on the right hand size. This is Scooter, he is a Shar Pei but he is different than the rest of us. He is a mini horsecoat. He is only about 35lbs. and Cojak is a whopping 84lbs. so you see there is quite a bit of difference.
He is my daddy's doggie! Everywhere he goes Scooter is right behind him.

From left to right its Cojak, the big guy, then my baby Mariah she follows me everywhere and when she isn't with me, she's with my mommy, then there's me, Chloe Belle. Some of us went outside today to look for the mean dog again. We did not see him and this is probably a good thing. My mommy is hoping the man takes care of his dog and keeps him put away so he don't hurt us or get hurt.
Other than that and watching daddy cut the grass not much was going on today.
The weather has warmed up a bit and mommy said we should get out and enjoy it cause its surely to turn cold soon.

Cojak on a mission!

Well, it just couldn't last long. The peace and quiet I mean. Mommy finally had a day off of work yesterday, so it was a snoozing Sunday for all of us! We had a fire going, daddy watched football and mommy slept off and on all day on the couch, so I had lots of cuddle time with her.

The peace and quiet ended though in the evening, when we were all inside except Cojak, and all the sudden mommy yelled, there's a dog out there!!!!

She and daddy went running out of the house, and daddy grabbed a broom. We all had to stay inside where they knew we were safe. Mommy told me all about it though when she came back in.

The mean doggie across the street came back, and daddy was going to go after it and shoo it back home, well, he was going to do more than just shoo it, but round the corner comes Cojak, on a mission to get the intruding doggie out of our yard. They got into a fight. Mommy grabbed the broom and started hitting the mean dog with the broom handle telling it to go home!! It got Cojak to the edge where he started to get shocked and he let go and backed up and the dog ran home! I think he may have hurt it some.

I hate to see doggies fighting so I'm glad I was in the house, but I don't want that dog to hurt none of my babies so I hope the dog may have learned its lesson and will stay at home.

Mommy doesn't want anything bad to happen, and neither do I.

This is my Tink when she was just a little girl! Isn't she just soooooo cute?

This is my little Tink now!!!! She's not so little anymore! In fact she is taller than me and heavier than me, but just like human mommy's we furry ones always worry about our little ones when they are hurt.

My mommy and daddy are taking really good care of her though. Jonathan has been helping with holding her so she doesn't make a mad dash to the kitchen table. He holds her so they can clean and bandage her up again. Mommy said yesterday it is starting to look a bit better.

In other news the only thing to report today is that it was pretty cold outside. Cojak of course laid in the garage alot but the rest of us pei pretty much stayed inside where it was nice and warm. My daddy will be making a fire in the fireplace so it will be warm and comfy later for cuddling.

Remembering Summer

Summer has come and gone, and I was just thinking about how pretty it was when all the flowers were out. Now they are all gone away until next summer. A good thing though is the pretty leaves are all different colors now, and I like to chase them when I am outside. Maybe mommy will take a picture of the pretty trees for me so I can post it.

Little Tinks leg still hasn't healed up. Mommy and Daddy are still taking care of it, but it hasn't gotten much better just yet. Mommy said she needs and idea of something to put on there to still allow some air to get to it, but to keep it protected from all the dirt. She's still thinking on that one.

The last few nights now, my daddy has had a fire going in the fireplace, its been so nice and toasty, I like to nap when its warm inside.

Yesterday a mean dog across the street from us came over and bit Tink on the leg. Several times. She has a bunch of wounds that Mommy is taking care of with some help. She's hoping it doesn't get infected and have to take her to the V E T. My daddy went over and told the man a few not nice things so I hope the man keeps his dog where it should be.
We wondered why Cojak didn't jump on the dog but my mommy says that she's pretty sure it all happened too close to our Invisible Fence line so no one would go near it. While Tink was being bitten she was most likely being shocked as well. Poor baby girl.
She hid under the table most of the night but finally came out to lay on the futon.
Mommy cleaned it really good today but she said it may still get infected.
It was not a good day yesterday.

Again Mommy has been busy and seems like Chloe is getting less and less puter time to blog. We must do something about this situation. Anyway, just wanted to let all know that last week Cojak had 2 tails when Mommy came back from walking the driveway to get the newspaper.
He was prancing around like he wanted her to chase him, and she told him it was too early in the morning. Then she seen a new tail hanging out of his mouth! YUCK! It wasn't his tail, he had caught a mouse in the garage! That is so nasty! Then he'd toss it and run pick it up again! Boys are gross!!!!!

Missing blogs

Yes, I have been away for a while now. With my daddy having been in the hospital for a good week and a half, and having to have major surgery done, mommy hasn't had a lot of time to share the computer with me.

My daddy is now back home and is recouping rather well. He is still pretty weak and doesn't come downstairs to see us alot just yet. I get to see him though when we go to bed at night, cause I the ChloeBelle of the Ball, get to sleep right smack dab in the middle of the bed between my daddy and my mommy.

I was so in the dark to all the goings on with every one elses blogs and I have been speed reading here today trying to catch up.

It was not a good thing at all, to read that my friend Iddy from Cambodia, passed away rather unexpectantly and very mysteriously. No one actually will know what truly happened to the little babe, but may she rest in peace. She will be greatly missed by her mommy and the two bullies she lived with Elvis and DT. Such a sad sad day when a pei has to go away.

Now, I am working my way through these gazillion blogs I have missed out on, so bear with me, and I'll be back to my usual snoopervising and reporting pei self.

So I haven't been on in awhile and I just wanted to first give an update about my tail.
It is healing up rather well and doesn't even hurt now. Mommy checks it each day and rubs on it just in case to make sure it doesn't hurt. I don't think my fur is gonna come back though but it'll be ok.
Now for our weekend. Did you see my daddys new toy? At least that's what my mommy calls it. He drove to Georgia to bring it home the other day. Got a good deal on it he says.
It cuts his wood up really really fast but it makes a lot of noise so when its running I stay back out of the way.
Other than that Dakota got a golf glove out of the garage the other day. She ate part of it and needless to say it came back up the next morning.
Our weather is changing here. Its starting to be cooler and I like that. I'm not a hot weather kind of gal.

Don't I look bored? I am, my mommy has been a busy person this week, and I have not gotten to get on here. I let her know today that we must work something out. The Bella needs to have a say, just about every day, not just one time a week. She said she'd get better at giving me my computer time, we'll see.
Not actually alot to report around here. We have been staying inside alot. There was a rukus tonight however. Seems as though the human across the street didn't watch his dog, and she wandered over into our yard, BIG mistake! My daddy has gone over there and told the human that he needs to keep her away cause our Cojak will attack if she comes into his territory! Apparently she did today! By the time my daddy got around the house though, the human was taking his dog home, and Cojak was in rare form! Later daddy noticed that Scooter and Tink both had marks on them as well. He said he guesses that they ganged up on the doggie. I hope the human keeps his doggie where it should be! No no No, don't come in our yard big black doggie.

Weekend Activities

I know, I know, its a bit late in the day to be blogging about my weekend, BUT my mommy was on the computer all the morning doing her games and such on FaceBook. Sheesh, can't a pei get some puter time!

My weekend in one word? H-O-T! and then some! Whew, I felt like I was melting everytime I had to go outside. Not long on each visit outdoors.

The most excitement that happened at our house,was Saturday, bit goofy Cojak rolled over in his sleep and hit the floor, yep, he fell off our bed, woke us all up really fast too. I was pei on the spot, thought it was someone coming into my mommy and daddys room, so I sat up and growled my deepest growl, only to find out it was just Cojak! Back to sleep we went.

I hate rainy days! There is absolutely nothing to do but to lay inside and watch the outside go by without me. Hope it stops by tomorrow, can't take much mud on my feet.
I did have to get a bit wet this morning, but my mommy dried me off really good. The power in our house went off, and she says she really hopes it comes back on soon, otherwise daddy will get the ol generator out to use.

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend all went well at our house, how about at yours? We had fun playing all weekend. Mommy got us a mattress pad for our futon and it is even more comfy than before. My weekend was full of cuddles and snoopervising the area.

Cojak is still wearing his t-shirt, cause each time mommy takes it off, he scratches it and starts bleeding again.
